Brett Sandland - BCF and an Officer of the Ordre Des Coteaux de Champagne.

Brett took over the King’s Head over 8 years ago and has been in the catering/hospitality industry for over 30 years. Starting out as a butcher’s boy whilst at school and kitchen porter whilst at college to the renowned Chef he has become today. After leaving college he worked at the Award-Winning Cotswold House Hotel in Chipping Camden, and then Hotel of the Year and Michelin Starred Grosvenor Hotel in Chester.

Brett returned to Birmingham to work at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, where he stayed for almost 19 years, the majority of those in the joint role of Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage. Brett was responsible for training and coaching a great team at the Hyatt over the years, both front and back of house, many of whom went on to win awards of their own, an achievement that he is extremely proud of.

The King's Head offers a choice of dining environments, our Bar dining rooms (where well behaved dogs are also welcome) offer a warm, casual feel surrounded by original oak beams, log burners and colourful locals. To the rear of the bar we offer a little more formal experience with views of the garden and excellent access for those who may be less able.

Above all, the Kitchen at the King’s Head values fresh and local produce, using the best seasonal ingredients all year round. Visitors can stroll around the on-site Kitchen Garden, where the chefs grow fruit, vegetables and herbs to ensure the freshest possible produce directly to your plate.

In reflection of this the À La Carte and Light Bites Menus change seasonally, with a great range of tantalising Starters and delicious Main courses including great “Pub Classics”, as well as a tempting Dessert Menu !
