our Place
Nestled beneath an ancient Horse Chestnut tree in the heart of Warwickshire and just off the beaten track from the historic Stratford upon Avon, lies this hidden gem!
The King’s Head is a traditional country gastro pub found in the picturesque village of Aston Cantlow and is steeped in history.
The church just next-door is where Shakespeare's parents were married, with their wedding breakfast served right here in The King’s Head!
Shakespeare himself is said to have visited the historic tavern many times whilst seeking peace for reflection after the hubbub of London life.

our food
Dost thou think, because thou art virtuous, there shall be no more cakes and ale?
'Twelfth Night' (1601) act 2, sc. 3, l. [124]
The King’s Head is renowned for the highest quality food and drink and always served with a smile! Chef Patron Brett Sandland brings a wealth of experience to both the kitchen and front of house, leading a dedicated team in providing a great all round experience.
Historically famous for our Duck Suppers, which originated during World War II, when rationing made good meat a rarity, and duck, which was free from rationing, a new speciality!
Today we continue this valued tradition with our Signature Duck Mixed Grill, a delicious and hearty dish which remains an ever popular staple on our À La Carte Menu.

Around and about
Aston Cantlow is typical of the beautiful walking country to be found in Warwickshire. Many marked walking paths are easy to follow and made easier if using O/S maps number 205 to the South including Stratford upon Avon and 220 to the North including Henley in Arden.

As well as our own delightful 15th century listed gastro pub there are many other places of interest.
The village church of St John the Baptist where Shakespeare's parents, john Shakespeare and Mary Arden, were married in 1557, is but one.
